Voting started in Argentina’s midterm elections on November 27 2025. Polls opened at 8am and closed at 6pm. This was the first time they used one paper ballot for all. The vote renewed 127 seats in the lower house and 24 in the Senate. About 36 million people could vote. Early results came out after 9pm.

Many people did not vote. Turnout was only 66 percent. That is the lowest since democracy came back in 1983. By midday it was 23 percent. One hour before close it was 58.5 percent. Voting is mandatory for adults over 18 but fewer came than in big presidential races.

President Javier Milei voted early in Buenos Aires. He went with security to Almagro. His party La Libertad Avanza wanted more seats in Congress. Now they have less than 15 percent. Milei hoped for one third to block opposition moves.

La Libertad Avanza won big. With 90 percent counted they had over 40 percent for deputies. The Peronist group Fuerza Patria got 24.35 percent. They did not run in all places. Provincias Unidas had 5.08 percent. In the Senate race La Libertad Avanza led with 42.72 percent. Fuerza Patria had 23.19 percent.

Milei’s party led in 16 provinces for deputies. They won six for Senate seats. In big Buenos Aires Province they closed the gap with Peronists. Polls from September showed Peronists ahead but Milei’s team caught up. Diego Santilli from his party said they did well.

Milei was very happy. He thanked 10 million voters. He called it a big change for Argentina. He said goodbye to old populism. He promised to keep his reforms going. He liked the new ballot system. It stopped old cheating ways.

The opposition looked weak. Peronists split up. Governor Axel Kicillof said he would talk with Milei. Juan Grabois wanted a kinder country. Sergio Massa said the vote was very important.

This win helps Milei a lot. His party now has more power in Congress. It will make his plans easier for the next years. Argentina may see faster changes in money and jobs.
