The Grave of Barog in Barog, located in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, is a site with a touching history. In the 20th century, Colonel Barog started building the narrow-gauge Kalka-Shimla Railway tunnel. Unfortunately, some mistakes in his calculations caused the tunnel ends to miss each other, leading to his embarrassment and a fine from the British Government. Overcome with shame, Colonel Barog took his own life, and his grave is near the unfinished tunnel that now carries his name. Later, H.S. Harrington completed the tunnel, making it the longest on the Shimla-Kalka Railway route and a remarkable achievement in engineering.
